I live in Australia the Southern Hemisphere but I grew up and spent the early years of my adulthood in the North Hemisphere so when I think of March I think of spring. The March journal prompt list does not relate to spring or autumn, but there are a few prompts for both seasons as extra bonus prompts.

What should I write in my journal every morning?
The reason I share journal prompts is I know when I started journaling I did not know what to write about. Today after many years of journaling I can open my journal and just write. However, we all start somewhere and not knowing what to write could stop you from experiencing the benefits of journaling. Journaling can simply be writing about;
- what you see
- how you feel
- what you hear
- your goals and aspirations
- what you are grateful for
If you are new to journaling read the ideas on the easy journaling prompts for beginners. The article shares the benefits of journaling and 52 journal prompts.
Should I use one-word prompts or a sentence?
I personally like to use a mixture of one-word prompts, a sentence and no prompt where I just free-write. I find them all beneficial and choosing which prompt to write from really depends on the time I have available. Every day I put time aside for journaling as part of my morning routine. But … it was not always that way. There were times I only wrote maybe 3 things I was grateful for that day because I was stressed, trying to get out the door to go to work. I think it is fantastic to have a specific time to journal. For me, starting the day well includes specific morning routine habits, including journaling.
