I remember when I had my cleaning franchise I found a mentor to help guide me with financial planning. This was for me a great move. I learnt so much about pricing based on static and flexible budgets. Without a mentor, I know it would have taken a much longer time to set pricing based on costs. This could have been detrimental to the business causing loss due to my lack of understanding at that time.
Work unpredictable hours. Most entrepreneur hours are not standard nine to five. Hours are long during startup phase. Quite often you work around your current job. Having a day job and starting a business takes commitment and business owners do not tend to watch the clock. They have longer days and are often thinking about the business, as the mind does not sleep. They look for ways to save time. Sometimes when balancing life is a juggling act and can be stressful. Therefore, it is important to ensure part of your routine needs to have some self-care time.
Fit tasks in around current schedule. It is not black and white as an entrepreneur. Days do not always flow. Many activities will take place at random times throughout the day. Just because you work after hours only does not mean the phone call you need to make does.
If you work during the day, the call coming from overseas may be after what you call your work day. Committed and flexible entrepreneurs have flexible workdays.
